Analysis

This part attempts to demonstrate the interrelationship between Filipino domestic workers and the multilingual environment of Hong Kong, qualitatively and quantitatively.

In the first part, we discuss whether and how the attitudes of this group of temporary immigrant workers are changed in the multilingual context of Hong Kong based on the interviews; the latter focuses on illustrating the degree of multilingualism by analyzing the language patterns of the Filipino domestic helpers while interacting with locals via an implicational scale.
